Council Activities

Council Meetings

About Our Council

The Knights of Columbus was founded in 1882 by a 29-year-old parish priest, Father Michael J. McGivney, in the basement of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, Connecticut. The Los Crusados Council was founded in 1919 through the efforts of  Thomas A. Gould, Peter P. Riley, and Robert M. Garbey. Today, more than a century after organizational founding, the Knights of Columbus has become the largest lay organization in the Roman Catholic Church.

The Los Crusados Council directs its activities to the following parishes: St. James Parish in Redondo Beach (http://www.stjamesparish.org/), St Lawrence Martyr in Redondo Beach (http://www.stlm.org/), and St. John Fisher Parish in Rancho Palos Verdes (http://www.sjf.org/). The council has many community and fund raising activities.
